Subject: MTX

As some of you already know im on 20mg Methotrexate via injection. Ive been on it for over a year now. My ESR is gradually getting higher, however not anywhere near waht it was before the drug. Ive had slight hair thinning in my fringe but nothing anyone has noticed. But im finding that every dose ive had over the past 2-3 months ive been finding that 2 days after the dose i feel ill! not just feeling sickly ether i feel like ive been hit with flu. it seems to be getting worse with every dose, and on the occasion i miss a dose i feel great untill i take it. (ive only ever missed one or 2)
Im starting to wonder wether this is the MTX starting to dissagree with me? I went onto injections because the sickness i got with tablets was debilitating even with anti sickness tablets. I just feel nausous on the injection and go off food a bit.
Not sure what i should do as im not due to see the rummy for another 4 months?
any advice would be great x

Hi everyone,
I had the same problem with the injections of mtx
Awful sickness, and was so so tired and felt spaced out.
Dreaded taking the injections as l knew l would spend the majority of the weekend in bed which isnt practical when you have children!!
Because of the side effects l stopped the mtx and now l am on Cimizia.
I would speak to the Rheumy and let them know how you feel..
For some people mtx works well but for me it was a big no no!! lol

I find that I am feeling pretty washed out after my metho day.. I have had to up to 15mg - and I take orally. My first new dose made me v ill, but not until the Saturday... weird isnt it.. but I suppose it takes time for the lovely drug to work its way around my little body!
