Hi kazzie i havent but my friends sister has it was all ok but they do have only 10- 15years life span so it wouldnt be the last one youd need in all probability.my friends sister had ra and ended up with 2new hips and knees shes defo more mobile and in less pain. One thing to consider hon is that if the joint failed i.e through infection they couldnt treat sucsesfully they might have to remove the hip and fuse the joint. This happens rarely but you want to weigh up all the pros and cons xx

I know of a couple of people who have had hip and joint replacements, one of which has RA. I cant say what happend with their meds or which ones they were on but just wanted to say that for them the replacements made massive differance to their mobility. they still used sticks but were much more comfortable than they were. Not sure what recovery was like for them but the end results were worth the op.
All the best and good luck. x

hi kazzie. i've had both hips replaced with no regrets. right after surgery there is pain but not the same pain as u went 2 the hospital with. mine got so bad i was draggin my leg. then my other hip got the same way. today they rarely bother me at all. so i would say go for it. it has to be done while there is still something to attach a new hip joint to. a lady over here that i know waited too long and when they replaced her hip it didnt work well cause what she had left of her hip joint, what holds the hip joint in was too deteriorated. after about 3 months after u get ur new joint u will be doing so much better. take care

hi kazzie. i thought i would explain why you have t come off enbrel b4 any surgeries. the enbrel suppresses ur immune system even more than usual. so ur off enbrel so an infection of any kind is less chance of getting. u might have 2 increase any pain meds or any other anti inflamatories 4 a few weeks but it will b worth it in a long run. usually ur off enbrel for 2 weeks b4 surgery and 2 weeks after. take care
