Subject: Which medication works??????

I'm 41 and was diagnosed with osteo arthritis in both knees in July last year, though I'd been exhibiting symptoms since 2001, which had gradually worsened.

I began taking Voltarol and my knees improved to the point of being almost normal for a period of 3 weeks, I was then given another form of Diclofenac which did virtually nothing.

After many months of taking this I asked my doctor to change the medication as it wasn't working any more to which he scoffed "don't be silly" and prescribed me Tramadol for the pain, which I can't take as it makes me vomit and knocks me unconscious...which is good if you're after a decent nights sleep but not if you want to drive to work and function effectively whilst you're there....!!!

I recently took Motifene, which gave me one weeks relief until the chemist gave me Diclomax instead of Motifene. Diclomax doesn't work for me but my doctor again insists that I'm being silly and that they are all the same thing!! They clearly are not.....otherwise they would work equally well, wouldn't they?

Has anyone else experienced such a variation in response to different variants of the same medication???
