Subject: laflunomide stopped

hi guys just thought id have a winge i had a phone call again last week to stop taking all my drugs as wbc had dropped low again (i was suprised as my rhummy had decided to alow my wbc to drop lower than they usualy do as i had this call nearly every few weeks) so my wbc had dropped lower than usualy allowed so stopped all my meds then i went bk yesterday morning to redo my bloods to see if i could tart treatment again only to have a call a few hours later to sy my wbc had dropped even further this was a complete suprise as i hadnt touched my meds for 9 days.
my rhummy has now decided to keep me off laflunomide altogether and just to keep me on enbrol im just worried my ra is going to get bad gain with out the laflunomide.
i also went to see my gp today has i have a black dot in the vision of my right eye this dot doesnt move like a floater it just there and very very annoying but he was completly useless and told me to see my optition. over the past week i have been more tired than normal with zero energy this is normal for me when my wbc is low how ever my rhummy nurse is certain it wouldnt be possible for me to no when my wbc is low as there isnt any symptoms but i disagree as i no b4 the hospital even get my bloods bk that they wont be right just woundered if any body else was the saame.

thats funny you say that about a black dot in your eye...i get a gold flash in my right eye which they said may be a form of migrane, but i was also told by the neurologist that i was best off seeing an optition!

Wbc protect us from infections as youll be aware. The body is usually good at keeping things on an even keel with drugs like leflomide mtx etc they artificially lower such things as wbc's so whilst feeling tired doesnt necessarily indicate low white cells it could be that your body is reacting to the imbalance. Itll be working like mad to make sure the white cells you have got are going to the places they need to be. Hope this helps x
