Hi Davina I get something similar & have always wondered what it is. Difference is, mine doesnt hurt unless I try & straighten it then it has me in tears! I wear a sports elbow support when it comes, it seems to help, as well as the diclofenac & paracetomol! I had similar in my wrist& the gp seemed to think it was tendonitis. Hope it goes soon, Karen

Years ago I saw my GP about my painful right elbow and even though I've never been near a Golf course he said it was Golfers elbow !! My right elbow is permanently swollen and only really hurts if I bang it on something and my right wrist is going the same way and a Steroid injection does nothing for me. davina it's when a Steroid injection is given into the joint that is affected .

My elbow started curling up and its hot to the touch which means inflamation. I just had steroid injection yesterday and hope this helps. Doctor increased my Gold to 50 mg fortnightly for next 2 mths and then 50mg every 4 weeks. Hope this will help. Has anyone tried gold before?

Your elbow may be extra painful to-day. I had steroid shots to the elbow twenty years or so ago. I still remember pain well!! amazing at 60 LOL. I had surgery for my tennis elbow fantastic. It seems now they are less inclined to do surgery. Not sure why! One of the best fix jobs i have ever had. Wish you all luck with your steroid shots. They also are a great relief. Do take care not to overdo it when the pain is less. Sure way to flare it all up again. By the way Kayjay i never did play tennis either. Ironing is a bad one for the golfer and tennis elbow,or anything that is repetitive. (not sure on that spelling) good luck everyone. Keep smiling
