how are you doing? It's very quiet on this board, peeps either away or having a break. I've been on more than usual as have been stuck at home with various infections. Now having to come off methotrexate because of them. All very uncertain for me now.
hope you well.

thanks Kay and Lynn :) Sorry to hear about your foot Kay. Hope you get some answers next month. Have you ever had steroid injection in it?

This blooming disease is driving me up the wall. Up and down on steroids and most of the time stuck at home. Can't walk very well now but got turned down for blue badge grrrr! Got to appeal but been too ill to organise myself.
Will get there in the end.
t.c. both of you.

Hi Sally + Lynn. Sally yes I've had 2 Steroid injections before but in my left foot which is nearly shot due to OA I have to wear and ankle brace for that. The injection didn't really help me so they did a scan in which they injected a dye into my ankle to see what is wrong. Apparently a bad fall I had years ago was really a small fracture which wasn't treated right by the A+E. So it all stems from that. The only relief I can get from the pain is to have a painkiller injected into it [ like they did with the dye/scan test ] but that's not a practicle solution !!

I'm just concerned that my right foot will go the same way - if so I'm not sure how I will be able to walk on 2 bad ankles !!

Sorry to waffle I'm so angry to hear they had turned you down - they are bliddy idiots !!

tc xx

Dont you give up Sally, As soon as you feel better get back on to it. Can your GP not help with the blue badge, I know I got mine cos I get the higher rate mobility but I am sure your gp should be able to help, its worth asking....
Kayjay, sorry to hear about your left foot, a friend of mine had the same probs years ago. They missed a small fracture in her foot and know she is having awfull trouble with the pain and mobility. you take care.

Hi Kay& Lynn,

Kay, I can understand your concerns but it may not go the same way. Hope the rheumy has some good ideas next month.
I will get on about the BB. My nurse is supposed to be writing a letter so waiting for that. My gp says they aren't allowed to write anymore 'because we are too supportive'!! Says it all. I can't understand what the logic is in denying people BBs until they are completely unable to walk. Surely it's better to keep people mobile and active in their communities etc? What about the mental health benefits apart from the physical benefits. They are short sighted, beaurocratic, pencil pushers.
