hi all nedded to come and let some steam out i am currently waiting to start anti tnf treatment had my first assesment 2 weeks ago and i go bk to the hospital on the 17th i have zero negative arthritis and have had many different drugs none that have so far been affective i have had 6 flares in the last 2weeks that are realy getting me down as i feel my life has been put on hold again and imm missing my usual activites and day to day things i currently have a flare in my left knee i have had it for a week now and when it seems to be easing off the nxt day it just seems to come bk and the cycle starts again. does anybody suffer with bad skin when having flare ups my face is covered in spots so im not to happy about that either i also find that where ever the flare up is the skin on that joint itches like mad. i feel at the moment that i am a 23yr old woman living in an 83 year old body. i have never realy felt down about my condition untill now and i have been diognoised for 6 years now. i am finding it hard to do things with my 2 yr old daughter and dnt wnt her to have to miss out on things because my legs for example are bad. i find it so annoying when family especialy my husband doesnt understand the mental and physical strain our disese has on us and how tiring it is to battle through the pain throughout the day. i wounder if you burn more calories while having a flare up because i no i seem to be exursted after trying to do daily things thanks for reading my moaning blog lol had

Moan away! I just had to sit on the pavement because I couldn't face the final 100 yards walk back from the post office as my hips and knee were burning and throbbing so much.
We'll get through it, I'm in a similar position to you maybe a few months behind, waiting for anti-tnf and MTX. We'll get through it and find the right treatment, just have to be patient i guess...

lol seemed t be no light at the end of the tunnel feel much better in myself now as my flare ups have eased off im just waiting for the nxt one to start. i hope it wasnt raining when you had to have a rest lol my husband always tells me to use my wheel chair when i have days like that but id rather struggle in agony as i am embarresed about being in a wheel chair dnt want the attention from people i know as i no they will ask question they always do when they see me on crutches i find it hard to explain my condition.
when was you diagnosed with your arthrits if you dnt mind me asking. i dnt realy know or speak to anyone that suffers with our condition

Guys....once u begin the ¦ANTI TNF and MTX together, u will have less flare ups. takes time tho, and takes time for the side affects to go... Im seron negative R.A. Inflamatory arhtritis basically, had mnany Corrective surgeris due to NOT being given the correct meds in th3e first instance....been on MTX over 3 years(now on MTX injections) and Enbrel over a year and a bit....lessened the flare ups, still get them, but not as long, not as bad....stay positive, but remmber there isnt a cure, and sadly we have to learn to readapt our lives, and make sacrificies sadly.....however, if U dont, U end up Burnt out....exhaustion is part and parcel of this Insidious disease...and if u have a hubby, wife, or gf, or bf that dont understand, Take them with U to the RHUMATOLOGIST....that will be their wake up call......cant stand hearing that peoples other halfs dont care, understand....then its up to U to make them Listen, becos U will need a lot of support and help, and emotional support too.......do your homework, trust me it helps get thru this crazy situation.......hopefully u will remain with just the R.A. or other types of Artha conditions, and NOT a multiple of issues that i sadly have, and others in this forum have too, also remember its NOT a life threatnening condition, altho painful, but we r here to listen to anyone.....anyway im here to help....Positivity is everything......x

thank you jill for your message i am at the hospital today for another assesment b4 i can start anti tnf had an awful month of constant flares i go away on holiday in 2 weeks was hping the hospital will allow me to have a steriod injection b4 i go to try and control some of the pain however when i discused this last month they wouldnt give me steriods as i was being assessed for anti tnf and they didnt wnt the steriods to hide my symptoms.
