Raised CRP is a sign of inflammation in the body. It can be raised for a number of reasons. If you think she has rheumatoid arthritis make sure she gets a referral to a rheumatologist ASAP. They will assess her and decide what treatment to begin. I know how worrying it can be. Does she have problems with her joints?

CRP is an inflammation marker .. but remember that means she inflammation somewhere in her body for any reason, not necessarily just arthritis or similar. When I had an infection my CRP went up to 350-400, when I had idiopathic pancreatitis last year it climbed to 1400 .. but my normal is above average at 10 for no apparent reason. I agree that a diagnosis is what's needed asap. Please don't worry unnecessarily about the CRP levels, they go up & down all the time even in healthy people.

Hi, as the others have said CRP can be high for things other than Arthritis, infection, heart disease all sorts. I'm having a major flare right now and my CRP IS 45.2. This high CRP that your wife has is more than likely related to her cyst. I'd leave it in the hands of the specialists and try not to worry too much though it's easier said than done. Go well X

Hi Glen please dont worry about her CRP everyone is different, mine has been 157.2 and has only got down to 102, but it is getting there like Abbie says it is easier said than done, try not to worry to much and wait for the results from her rheumy. take care.

Ta Verity & Angela, appreciate your comments. At the time I just thought I was in a bit of trouble I had no idea my readings were that high! However, I got over it. BTW don't get me wrong, although they were that high I wasn't crying all day every day in pain either ,, seems to me that I am lucky I have such a high pain threshold!
