Verity does it really make any difference? Though must agree with your tory opinion.

Soap box time [ lol ] what has really pi**ed me off is that when Mrs T came into power she privatised long term Nursing care for the elderly. Dad had a massive stroke in 1990 and he had to go into a Private Nursing home which he had to pay for even though he needed nursing care which should have been "free at the point of need" as stated in the NHS formation act. That generation were fooled into thinking that when they paid their National Insurance they [ and their offspring ] would be cared for from cradle to grave - not so !! Mum started with dementia in 2001 and has been in a Nursing Home since 2003. Same again she has had to pay £2000 per month for her Nursing care. Now Mum+Dad both worked full time all their working life to buy their humble little terraced house - they went without holidays/cars etc just to pay the mortgage. Mums house had to be sold last March to pay the Nursing fees. So even though Labour were in power and despite many promises from Mr Bliar they never redressed this situation. I am very eager to see if the new government will address this as it is a most important point to anyone who owns their own home

Here endeth the sermon ;0)
