Subject: hospital visit
Evening all, I went to hospital yesterday to meet my new specialist research nurse. what a difference it makes when u get someone in the profession who actually knows what there doing. I am anxious but feel better about going in to this study i get to hopefully find a drug which is gonna help me, well i will have my fingers crossed. hope ur all doing ok xx

Hi gang....had my hosp appt with spine surgeon yest, re my neck Mri results, and If ive decided that i have the spine op etc.......Neck MRI results...herniated disc, bulging, but not bad enuff to operate, thank god!, MRI showed every sectionof my spinal cord, is close, but not enuff to worry about(phew)....spine, well up to me whether he operates, or let is natural fuse itself....its almost closed wher the disc use to be, he saysd natural fusion(not operating) can take a fw years to fuse, but up to me, depends how painful my back is..... walked out of there so happy, becos i have a chocie, altho dont like the idea of natural fusion, tht obviously does happen if we dont have op......so goood news really.....seeing me in 3 monthsd to talk about whether i do or dont, and having xrays on both knees, cos i cvan barely walk without pain!!....all in all, good.....mind u, he reckons the neck wont get worse, my herniated discs in my spine got terrible, y wont the nheck get terrrible, and far worse?? he reckons not, guess I have to trust him, Unless anyone out ther has saem as me, and can offer me help?? havnt yet googled it.....gastritis is back!!!!! grrrrrrr

Jill havent you enough to put up with, this gastritis is a real pain in the a... so sorry you have all this going on. at least you have time to think about your op for your back. I truly know wot you mean about the knees, sorry i cant help but thinking of you(((hugs))) tc xx

awwwwwwwwwww Lynnney, u r sooooooooo sweeet x, yea im well fed up, becos i went to scotland last week, which im so glad i did, now have fab memories, and suppoet to be seeing my sis today, long drive, bout 65 miles(i get lost, satnav even lol, so make it anothet ten miles, we r meeting with m8s again, and another gig, in hayes, middlesex, seeing les again, anyway, thing is, at 1pm yest, felt tum pain, upper abdomen, and got worse by 5, and even worse by 10pm, better now, but feel fragile, and worried it will come back, feel gastritis is lurking, so cant eat today!, too scared......anyway,im trying to force myself to get out there, cos the memories r brill to have.....yea feel good about the hosp visit Lynn,however, bit of a long story, but do need all the gangs support on this.......about 4 years ago, had xray on neck, took fella with me, rhummy said, reason for bad neck is......2 discs have gone in neck, and 3rd one on the way is going!, made sense to me, cos neck is still and painful, as mentioned many times b4.......however, when I saw my Yummy spine surgeon, he told me that infact other than the Bulging disc that the MRI found, my other discs in neck r good, I said"hang on, rhuumy said 3 were gone," and he showed me MRI and my discs in my neck, apart from the bulging one look perfect.......so what do i do gals?? also do u think that bulging disc cld be from that accident i had in Jan?...anywa gotta go, nagging fella dooing my head in!!! xxJill x

Jill you are gonna have to have a good talk with your rheumy and find out " wots going on", Hes telling you one thing and the surgeon another blummin eck no wonder you dont know wot to do..tc xx

hi Jill, sounds complicated to me. I don't what to say but you have to decide who to trust I guess. I think spine surgeons know more - they have to as they operate on it so I would be inclined to go with his view. Anyway, if he is as yummy as you say he is.......! MRI scans are more definitive aren't they?
Sorry to hear gastritis bad again. Anything more they can do for this?

hi sally and Lynn, yea im confused too, cos my MRI scan, apart from the herniated disc the rest l,ooked gr8, yet when ive seen the xrays of my neck, fella came with me, and it showed discs were gone!...totally confused, but will get on to it....gastritis, still a huge prob...only meds can help it.....but cant live with this, also the pain is begining now IF i dont eat!....and sometimes when i do eat, it kicks off!! cant win....grrrrrrrrrr.....goona c GB surgeon soon, will ask him...tc guys x hope all is well x
