I've got arthritis in my bone just below the ankle. Apparantly there are 3 joints and the one in the middle is shot. The only option was to have the ankle fused but the Ortho said on my last visit he is not willing to do it because of the RA diagnosis. Look on the Internet and see if you can find out anything else about it.

Is a podontrist like a podiatrist? I've been waiting to see the podiatrist since September! My nails are so thick with psoriasis that I have to use garden cutters to cut them but because of the Arthritis I don't even have the strength to do that. GP is unsure I qualify for more than one apt. What a joke! Argh!

Abbie tried to google podontrist and can't find anything ? It sounds like you saw an Orthopedic Surgeon if they said about removing bone. I see an Orthopedic guy who specialises in foot problems - he's also known as a " foot fellow " - not it's funny but true !! Anyway a Podiatrist are able to test Diabetic's feet etc [ a step up from a Chiropodist I think , I once called them a Chiropodist and got a look that could kill - won't be doing that again !! ]. The GP might be wrong about just 1 appointment only. I should stress to the Podiatrist that you can't cut your nails properly because of the psoriasis and the arther pain !!
