well not unless he/she has been Highly reccomnded, also remember O.a. is wear and Tear, no one can make wear n tear go away, unless U have corrective surgery....I personally wldnt go to see an osteopath, Unless for muscle aches and pain, they work gr8 on the mucsles, but cant cure O.A. or any sort of arthritids fo that matter.....welcome to the forum

I used to go to an osteopath all the time for things like sciatica. Won't touch it now, I think it is very bad for you. My osteopath does massage instead for me and it is much better. Jill is right, won't do a thing for OA.

My brother in law has osteoarthritis in his hips but they won't give him hip replacements which He needs because they say He's too young and as they Only last a certain amount of time and you can Only have 3 in your life they're holding off till REALLY desperate. He sees an osteopath every 1-3 months and finds it helps and really notices when he's due to be seen again.

I stand corrected then! I've really gone off it. I've read that if you go repeatedly it can cause other problems. I also don't like my spine being manipulated anymore. But lots of peeps do like it of course!

Abbie seriously, the Osteopath weont be helping your Bro if he needs two hip replacements, bevosd Osteo isd wear and tear of the Hip joint, mb his Osteopath is helping him in different ared, day his back for example.... but ther fact your bro in law goes every 1 month - 3 and ongoing, tells me volumes..... also a Good Hip surgeon will give new hips, u have to fight your corner that is all...Verity is only 24, and she is getting 2 hip replacements at same time!, it isnt about age, infact, its important that he gets his Hips now, for quality of life, My hip surgeon sdaid he does Not go by age!...so he shld get 2nd Opinion, Also Sally is having new hip soon, then another one in a year, he really needs to Nag at them more that it is Unbearable....Jill

Abbie, just to agree with Jill, I thought I was gonna have to fight for them to replace my right hip. I left very happy and am potentially having both done in same op. Maybe it depends on the surgeon? The guy I saw does research into young ppl and replacements. Try and get other opinions because osteo is so much more damaging to the joints so I bet your bro in laws hips are worse than mine.
Can I ask how old he is??
