Hiya Jill. I've had mine for about 11 years they told me they can travel but mine seems happy to stay put !! Could be hereditary ? as Grandma had them and had to have emergency op because they got caught somewhere else in her body ? I can well remember her showing me them in an old jam jar when I was wee !!yuk!! She seemed proud of them anyway and I suppose to get through the op circa 1940's was a feat in itself !!

Yeah the Omerprazole are in the same family as Lansoprazole I think there called Proton Pump Inhibitors or something like that.

I got a final diagnosis of RA a few weeks back they put me on Plaquenil b'cos the RF was " out of range " in the blood test. Got appointment this Tues with the Rhumie Nurse.

Take care xxx

Hi Jill, sorry to hear about your gall stones. My aunt had her GB removed and it went fine. Hope you can persuade them to take yours out! My dad had a colonoscopy and said he didn't feel a thing, so don't worry about that. My family seem to have had most things between them lol!

Good to see you up and about!

Knowing peeps like you also helps :) Been lots of changes in my life over the past year and it takes time to adjust so not being too hard on myself, though some days it's a bit of a struggle. Think of my mum a lot which makes me sad. Esp with mother's day coming up, going to bury my head in the sand over that one!

Oh Jill you are are so lovely! Yes, you are right and of course my Mum is with me, even more so now in some ways. I have to remember all the good stuff. Everyone says the first year is the hardest, all the aniversaries etc. I keep seeing things I think Mum would like and then remembering she's not there. Of course I don't want to forget her either :)
thanks again for your kind words - I know you understand and that helps in itself.
How are you feeling today?

Sorry to hear about your Mum's guys. I've still got mine but she has Dementia and has " not been with us " for the last 10 years if you know what I mean. It breaks my heart every time I visit because it's still Mum's body that is here but not her personality or spirit. She was a fab Mum and a best friend and I miss her like hell.

Subject: Re: welcome back Jill!

Jill there are many types of dementia my Mum has one of the rarest forms called Fronto Temporal Dementia [ where the damage/shrinkage is specifically in the fronal lobes ] . Alzheimers is usually all over the brain [ or global ] . With FTD the strongest symptom is drastic change in personality, like they become very selfish and lack insight into others troubles. This is totally different to how she used to be as she was the most thoughtful Mum anyone could have. She also lost her speech almost immediately. She also has compulsive obsessive / repetetive behaviour. There is no medicines or cures for FTD as the brain dammage cannot be reversed. It is one of the most cruelest of Dementia's. Although none of them are fair and with people living longer there will be thousands more with it in the future. I would advise your daughter to try to look into all the different types of Dementia's as this does affect the way the people behave. Some can be very agressive - thank god Mum isn't one of those. At the beginning she used to get her words mixed up and got very worried about it we just thought it was nerves but sadly not. What has made things a lot worse for us is having to sell her much loved home to pay the £2000k nursing home fees per month. She would be devastated if she knew about that.

Does the GP know about the pain in your shoulder blades Jill ? and if not I would get back to them and tell them.

Kay, your Mum's dementia sounds awful. Jill is right, it must be much harder for you to watch her suffering and for you to lose your Mum in that way. My uncle had Alzheimer's and that was pretty bad, he did get violent in the end and my aunt had to find a home. It's a tragic disease.

Jill, am really pleased your gp has referred you. You don't need gall bladder pain on top of everything else. god knows you have enough to deal with!

that is terrrible KJ, seem to remember u telling me tht b4, tht is so tragic re the house, and the costs of it, blidddy dreadful! I worrry about my brother who has MS, but has Temporal Lobal siezures....he had MS diagnosed when 22..hes now 52, looks amazing, but gave up work reluctantly few years back, he use to ride a superbike up to the docklands, great job etc....the lobal seizures made him give up...too dangerous...hes under lots medication, as u mentioned your Mums Fronto Temporal Dementia, it sounded like my Brothers Temproal lobal siezures...I dont know if that cld happen to him...they still cant get to bottom of his conditon, its kinda rare to get that with MS, altho does happen, but his MS has been the 'gentle type' so to speak over the years....always fit until last 5 years with the TLS! so sad........ well KJ u have just taught me something, I had No idea there were many diff types...i knew a girl whos mother use to set the house on fire, had no choice but help her and put her into a good care home, she felt like shite!...gotta be hard....and ya right about whatu said, the longer we live, the more people will get it, becos we r living longer thatn we have eve b4...its normal to hear that someone has reached 90....all I can say to u KJ, is that your Mum is so loved, that she is being given the best care u could give her, she may not realise that, but its your Heart that does know.

Gp knows bout shoulder blades, thats y hes writing Urgently....mind u, he said it will be 3 week wait...if it gets worse KJ, Il be Knocking on A&E doors, trust me!!...thanks for support x

Jill if you have any worries about your bro's temporal lobe seizures then get him to request an MRI scan. Sounds like my son he's bike mad !! Scares me to death he does.

Mum was fine before she started saying the wrong words then acting strange. We had no choice but to put her in a nursing home when she started to stop cars coming down her road asking the drivers for a light for her ciggy. xx
