Subject: Bath chair thingy!
Hi everyone! The OT finally came round to the house and has said shes gonna get me a bath chair that raises me in and out of the bath! I havent had a bath without someone getting me in and out since I was about 10 yrs old so Im quite excited! Has anyone else got one??

hi verity i had one of those bath chairs that lifts up and down by remote but it was no good for my bath has i have a corner bath and the flaps on the side of the bath chair only fitted to one side of the bath, i found that they are actually more trouble then they are worth as you need somebody to lift the chair into the bath for you as they are really heavy and the ot advise that theres somebosy there with you to help you onto the sideboards so you can actually slide onto the seat and then when you have had your bath you need somebody to help lift the chair back out of the bath plus you got to keep putting the battery on charge as it doesnt stay charges for long but its worth you trying it maybe you might find you like it i didnt i didnt feel safe on it lol

Hi Verity, I got one of those and I find it good, not the same having a bath, it doesn't give you the same freedom but Still it's a bath. I leave mine in the bath,as shaz said it is quite heavy. I suppose I'm lucky I can just about manage to get in and out myself. I try and do as much as I can on my own, and if I can't, I have learned to ask. I love my bath, not too keen on showers. Good luck ith it, I hope you enjoy your bath ;-)
