Subject: Thank you all so much

This year just after my 50th birthday the doc told me I had arthritis and needed a hip replacement op. I felt alone and afraid. My family are lovely and supportive, but no one understand arthritis like another sufferer, it made such a difference to have found you all on this site, the support made me feel more positive and a lot less scared. So thank you all so much. I will be having the op in January. This Christmas is so different from others, as I cant walk unaided for very long so cant throw myself into a whole day shopping like I have before, I have been going to the big stores so I can lean on a shopping trolly for support. my hope is that the op will make a big difference and I can come on here with a positive outlook that I can pass on to others. Merry Christmas to you all xxx

Jennny, Goood luck for your op OK, U wont need it, becos one of my m8s had it done, and she is over thye moon with the results.... no pain at all...she had that op about 8 months ago now....she had the less invasive one, out in a day, smaller instruments, but a huge hip joint put in! amazing....... that type of op was advertised on the TV, and guess what, it was my Hip surgeon that invented it!!!!...so U LOOK FORWARD to that Hip Op ok, there are a couple girls having hips done ...Moonfairy in Jan, and Karen this week.....U arnt alone Ok.... what type r u having?I dont know the name of the less invasive type, and I know there r all different types of hip ops, we r all diff..... anyeay U have No need to worry, Just Look forward to tht independence again, and beging the NEW YEAR with a new hip.....Lucky gal xxxxxxxx also see it as a Positive op, that way u will feel relaxed and not negative at all.... its a Crimbo pressie from ya surgeon, cos lots of us r in agony and I wld love a new hip, waiting for spine surgery this coming year, if hips still hurt, think they r thinking of doing Hip resurfacing..... plus gotta have two shouler ops..... I tend to look forward to my ops. helps me be less emotional, and outs me in the correct emotional mood.....dont get me wrong, I cry after lololol.... anway Jenny, have been thinking of u, but I havnt beeen on much, so good luck ok and plssssssssssss let us know how u get on, what day r u going in?? we can all think of u that day and ssend happy vibes to u xxxx

Hi Jill, seems like you have been through a lot, and when I read other peoples stories on here I feel that my problems are very small in comparison. I don't have a date yet they just said it will be january and seem to let me know at the last minute, I should have had it done already but was moving house at the same time as op date should be in my new home soon it will be easier for after the op no stairs and a shower I can walk into so will be able to wash! I don't know what type of hip I am having I did ask bout reserfacing but the consultant is not a fan of them. was told I would be in for up to 5 days.will keep you all posted.
