lol hi verity and thanks!

Sadly its not a hip replacement which would be so much easier to recover from, im having hip preservation surgery which involves removing a bump of bone from my femur and removing bone from the hip socket, also a tear of the cartilige! Its keyhole surgery and will take up to 4 hours, if it doesnt work then i will have to have a hip replacement, which everyone who has had one tells me is great!

That all sounds incredibly complicated. Seems a shame they can't just whip it out and give you a new one! I hope it helps so you dont have to have more operations. Im not even definately having my hip done and its quite daunting so you must be nervous. Im sure it will be absoultely fine xx

thanks both of you, yep im nervous but hopefully it will work! I noticed when i saw him on tuesday that on the consent form it said the op was to ease the pain and that there are no guarantees. Anyway fingers crossed! Will keep in touch as im going to be non weight bearing for 6 weeks after, plenty of time to spend on the laptop!!xx

Hey Karen

My experience is that it depends how long it's been a serious problem.

Good luck and fret not too much.....they're doing this all day every day.

If you do need a full hip replacement, I've published a book on it which I sell in my online health library but you can get it free.

Let me know if you want it. Google my name with quote marks front and rear to see that I'm not a threat.
