Hi Chillian
Sorry to hear that the diclomax is upsetting your stomach. There are loads of other NSAIDs you could try. Jill mentioned transtec and zomorph, these are both opiate based drugs and can be highly addictive, if I were you I would ask your GP if you could try another NSAID and if you are not already taking a stomach protector ask about them as well. Hope things improve soon.

Emmma hi there, hows r u? u r right about the meds im on are opiates, but they do help control the pain, sometimes they dont....thing is I need them, and I guess becos so many of the members r in pain, its rotten that they r suffering, also b4 I began my zomorph and the like, I suffered like the rest, and was only taking Parecamol after my spine op!! terrrrible pain....I have since 2003, been on the long road of trying tramadol, helped for a while, and tried other meds, unfortunately, guess im worse than some, becos my pain was high....and as last resort, I began patches(being lloked after by my fab GP tho) then my body got use to the patches and i cldnt go any higher, so changed over to Zomorph, they r slow release, I can stop my meds if I wanted to, i dont feel addicted to them as such, I guess i wld get withdrawal from them, therefore they r addictive in that sense..... so I wld have to come offf them slowly, no different than being on a long dose of steroids, again u have to stop them slowly..... so for me, im not addicted as such, but if there was a decent painkiller that took my pain away, i wld prefer to take that.....but there isnt.... guess thast y I keep having corrective surgery, since 2003, ive had 7 operations on different joints and soine....now need a fusion of my spine..... again Im not a gp.....but when members r in agony, I just give them ideas to ask the gp, the GP knows best, of course, and he will say Yes or no.... and explain the type of med it is....... at end of day, i dont care what meds I personally take, as long as I can cope a little wach day.... i never thought id be on the Bilogics, that r terribly toxic...but hey 6 years down the line, im on MTX and Enbrel.... guesss im just unlucky....... sorrry post is long

take care
Jill

Hi Chillian

Emma is correct...they r very strong and Opiate based, but at the time My GP prescribed them to me for better pain control, i ddint personally care what they were...just wanted the pain to stop, i was in a baddd place and needed stronger painkillers, some people Luckily may never need stronger painkillers....lucky them I say, but I do get upset when I see or read that someone is in severe pain, cant sleep etc, and I remember how i was, it was Pure agony!! so altho i suggest these type of Painkillers, U cant get them off the chemist, its offf the GP only....so he will always have the correct info for u....anything I suggest is from my personal view point, and any meds I suggest, literally r just suggestions, simply becos they work for me(to a point) not painfree totally, dont think any of us will ever be, unless its a mild case of course, in which case, parecetamol mite do the trick lol.....unlikely of course, but like i said to Emma in my post....ive got to this stage over 25 years or so, and last 6 years has been my worst.....anyway, i dont smoke weed, or take heroin, or any other bad drugs out there, im strictly looked after by my Gp and rhummy and nurse etc..... they will know best what U should be on, I suggest what im on becos the others never worked for me.....but ive been down the road, and its a slow process b4 u get to the opiates, than k god in a way.....anyway I have a great GP and rhummy Nurse, who offer Me the painkillers that my body needs, nowt else works

anyway take care and let me know how u get on....but as for that med U were taking, U will ghet weak and sick being stuck on that loo....see GP and get something that suits U ok...let me know how u get on please

take care love Jill x

Hi all, thanx for all the feedback ladies it really helps. When the doc offers me any meds i always ask if its addictive i have an aweful fear of gettin hooked.I guess i live in the hope that i wont always need them.Although i can totaly understand how ppl can take anything if it relieves the pain, its not an easy decision.I find the feedback in here really is priceless. Its easy to hang on every word the doc says and do what they say but its not always the answer for us all.At least here we can talk to ppl on the meds and get the advice we need. Therefore this is the place to be with the ppl in the know,Many thanx girls have a gr8 weekend.x
