yes, my friend has it Chillian, going to be honest, the problem with firbro is that it mimics arthritis....so diffficults to tell if its arthritis, or Fibroyagia.....Bernie in here has been diagnosed with it...one of my m8s has it...BUT, from what she has told me, they fob her off a lot, the docs etc, she isnt on any special meds etc.... and because it causes joint pains, fatigue etc, How on earth can they say a person has that, if it could be arthritis and get better meds, Like Methtrexate, or Enbrel injections like I have, the biologic meds etc.... thing is, nowt shows up on MRIs, xrays, no swelling, but constant pain and tiredness..... her doc said she had Fibromyalgia, I think its a grey area being diagnosed with it, becos(I dont know enuff about all these illnesses) but it mimics arthritis, and it could well be the dreaded Arthritis!! anyway gota go get kids so will finish this posting another time take care all x

Yes that is very very sad cos it is serious,I have all these symptoms but nothing shows up in my xrays or MRI and the pain i am in is no joke. The docs do seem to fob you off and as i said in my first post i first went a few years ago about this and doc said it was in my head,my father had passes away and they used that as a reason for the way i was feelin.Everytime i go they seem to have no answers im startin to feel like im doo-laly lol.Thanx for your post its always good to get someone elses take on it.xx

Hi Chillian,
I am newbie also.
Can really empathise with the getting fobbed off thing, have had that for years myself. Ive been diagnosed with everything from flu to depression as an explanation for my aches and pains depsite the fact that everytime it gets really bad and they test me for rhuematoid factor woop there it is(means nothing according to my G.P). Currently having a major flare up of pain, saw the Doc last week asked to be referred to a consultant(for the millionth time) and was told that she would need to take my bloods and then I would need to come back again and we would think of plan (basically she would think of another half backed diagnosis and needed a week to come up with something). Going back tommorrow and really dreading it, this probs sounds pessimistic but dont really have high hopes its been 6 years now and I still havent got a referral or decent pain relief, looks like I have a better chance of winning the lottery. Hope that you have better luck and get an anwser soon to your troubles soon hun

Hi Chillian. Yes, I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia a few months ago. It's a horrible condition, for me I ache all over, everywhere I touch is sore. The best way to discribe it is, your body being bruised. I was taking lyrica but I put on so much weight in such a short time, I'm coming off them in the next few days. There is no actual cure but as I am learning to change my thinking about it. I was devestate when I first got it,but by going on the net and educating myself, I'm learning to live with it. He may have a point about the phycologist, I've just started to see a lady who does Biodynamic Phycotherapy. I relly think it is helping me. It's not that it's all in your mind cus believe me I know it's not, but I would try anything if I thought it would help. There are some great sites about it.Have to go now, in pain again. Chat soon

I have been doing lots of research on the condition over the past few weeks so I am prepared for my rheumatologist in a fortnights time, and am starting to think that I could have this. I seem to be ticking lots of the boxes at the moment. But I guess I need to go through more tests at the hospital.

I have had such a stonking headache for 3 days now, it just wont go, even with taking my stronger painkillers. My neck is aching too, so maybe its all conected?

Am gonna sit down, in front of the tv tonight ... I love watching xfactor with my 12-year old daughter.

Have a nice evening all, hope you are all feeling okay today?

Michelle x

same here michelle,im rarely without a headache and gettin compfortable with my neck is impossible i think it makes my head so sore.Enjoy Xfactor its the highlite ov my weekend live shows 2nite BRILL. Thanx for your advice Bernie its appreciated and i feel for you.Its not that im against seein a phycologist its just that i feel that i need answers and a diagnoses first,i feel like im doin more research than my G.P but i guess its hard for them to understand the pain others are in when they arent feelin it,although it is their job.Hopefully these blood samples that the Rhumatologist has taken will throw more light on things. Enjoy your weekend folks. xx

I Love , LOVE X FACTOr...... ok gals, like u all, imhave inflam artha, and all the symtoms U say u have, I also have, so how can they tell us we all have different types of artha!!! Fibromyaga symptoms r similar to arthritis!!...make sure u get the correct diagnosis...with fibro, they dont offer any decent meds, with artha, they do.......so be clear that U have the correct diagnosis.... like I told u b4, if they cant find a reason for a persons pain, they tell u its fibro!!!! its a con, and an easy way out for the doctors, its a fob off....soryy, but it makes me angry, its hard to diagnose and some ppl i know have been told they have it....i also have a person that i know, been told she has it, but she keeps having corrrective surgery....how can she have fibro!!! anyeay, getting offf my soap box now, sorry....Just be clear.... find out Y they have duagnosed u with the condition , ASK questions Y they think u have any conditon!! also ive been told ive got Infla artha, but also my ESR hit 97 and my other rhumy(had two at hosp at the time) said I had R.A. to this day, i still dont know if i Have Inflamatory artha, or R.A. guess it doenst really m atter, pain is the same, agony is the same, and the treatment is the same!! anyway.....fight and ask questions...xx
