Subject: CRP and anti CCP

Does anyone know what would be classed as a high CRP level and anti CCP level? Mine are 17 and 68

Hi Janet, I had a look on the net for you. this is what I found for anti ccp levels , Weak positive 20 - 39 Moderate positive 40 - 59 Strong positive anything greater than 60 . And this is what I found for crp, C-reactive protein (CRP)
Normal:
01.0 mg/dL or less than 10 mg/L (SI units)
Does this help?
My was only told my anti ccp was neg. But I have a low pos rf.
I'm sure someone will no more though:)
take care Jo

Hi Janet, I got a sheet explaining blood results from my rhummy nurse.
Although I cant find ccp. CRP = Normal 0-5
It says guide to the degree of inflammation. More responsive that ESR but again can be altered by infection or trauma.
My CRP was 66.9 in July and last tests Sept 39.9.
My ESR has gone down from 101 in July to 67 Sept.
I started taking sulfasalizine in April. I have RA

Hiya Jill Still here and yep still high ESR and CRP.
I have tried and tried with alternative medicine, and changed my lifestyle big time, and actually feel a lot better in myself although my knees still dont work, but the RA is still winning according to my bloods.
I thought getting my ESR down from 101 to 67 was good but after seeing my rhummy nurse today she said it is still way to high, and she doesnt think the sulfa is working well, and she wants to put me on MTX.
I have been given 3 weeks to see if there is any further improvement and if not then I will have to seriously think about it.
So lets just see.
Take Care

Hi Angela, i reckon that along with the MTX it will bring it down a lot more, even if u get it to say 35 wld be a massive improvment....just so that u dont worry, I truly beleive that any side affects u may get from MTX wont be a big deal for u, I personally beleive(after haveing been on sulfa) tht MTX is far less side affects, we arre all different I know....so try not worry, being on the two, wont mke your side affects double , if u get what i mean!...anway, stay positive, glad they r helping u with the corrects meds, U need them....also remember they are not the last resort either....there are the Bilogics too i.e. Enbrel, maybe u will recoil at such a thought, but they arnt that bad honest....been on MTX and Enbrel way over two years now...... keep coming in ok, will help u stay positive, and sk any of us as many qwessys as U need to know.... lots love Jill x
