Subject: worried

Hi all
Just been to see physio, due to pins and needles in hand. Had that funny experience with neck and head on Monday, like an anxiety attack, hot rush through neck and over head, then the pins and needles in arm and hand then weakness, now they want me to see the docs, which i have an appt for on friday. Physio worried in case it was something like a stroke, although no headaches or anything else unusual. She did some tests, have no reflexes in arms, although i knew i had very little anyway. I also told her my head hurts to touch sometimes, as if someone has pulled my hair. I am thinking perhaps trapped nerve due to the arthtitis in neck. Anyway have to wait now until friday. Although must admit a bit scared.

I have that, it feels like that, cant touch my hair, head as it hurts, and my face and forehead feels weird, and tingles when touched, hate that...can cause terrrible eye pain....... please let us know how u get on fri....coz we will all be worried otherwise....take carexx

Hi Della
Thank you for your concern. I have had some terrible anxiety attacks myself in the past but nothing that caused my fingers and arm to go like this. They rushed me to the gps straight from work once, they thought i was having a heart attack, i could not breath, i did have pains in my chest and arms though, but everything was fine, although i was bad for quite some time, i had to see a psychiatric nurse for months. What has happened to your son in law and daughter, hope they are ok, and you keep well also, will write on friday.

Hi Jill
Thanks for your concern as always, i do have parts of my head which hurt, tender to touch, also my forehead aches at times, which does affect my eyes, but they are okay. Sometimes i feel as if something starts crawling in my neck working its way over my head, i have heard other people say this, but i do not know what it is.
I have very dry eyes, which i use drops for, also my mouth goes very dry at night, but i know thats the medication. I will write on friday after seeing the gp. Keep as well as you can.

Hi Jill
Been to see gp, states she says it was not anything to do with a stroke, but as you thought a trapped nerve. Also when she took a good look at the notes which were sent from the Cov&Wark hospital, she said it was a bad report, also it did state that there was more wrong with the thoratic part of the spine. Also C5/6 is where your Ulna nerve branchs out, so this is or, could be part of the problem. I am waiting until monday to phone the doctors sec.to get a private consultation, to wait for nhs one to long, but i cannot wait any longer, just fed up with being messed around. Hope your day has not been to bad.
Take care.

Monica,

Sorry to hear about all your problems. I know that waiting for NHS is major pain in where ever but make sure that any private consultation is with the right people, ie some private physios are not specialists in rhuematology and arthritis. It is a definite separate speciality. How do i know this? I'm a retired physio (retired due to arthritis!)The same applies to Drs but thats easier to check.

By the way i always reccomended swimming and gentle aqua-robics.

Good luck.

Lynh hi there, jilll here, ok Lynh goona pick ya brains....had physio about 3 years ago, then had 3 hip ops, and b4 that had Dynesys op in spine, now need fusion...... aneay my thoracic(cant spell that) is agony, was told at the time that my upper spine is solid, wont move due to athritis.... does that means its probably fused? the aches just wear the bra straps sit is so painful, but achey pain, rather than shooting type pain..... my spine specialist that I saw recently, I asekd if I cld have an MRI on my upper, he replied " your upper spine is probably just like your lower"....my lower, has lost three discs, hense the orig spine op, now another has gone, been told its DDD.....so I didnt want to bog soen my appt with him as we were discussing the correct spine op I need, whether to have Dynesys again, or Fusion......bit scared about that one, as its far more longer to recover.....I also have Reiters disease, wheichs means it attacks all my soft tissue, which means that I do not recover well after an op......can take months to get over an op....anyway, sorrry to ramble on, and im soooooo sorry that U had to give up your very important job, hope u r coping well.....love Jill x
