Subject: had a holiday, forgot to pack arthur

Hi everyone
I have just come home from a week in spain
I was feeling a bit worried as those of you who have seen my chat before know I am waiting for hip op and have (like most of us on here) quite a bit of pain. I was worried about the trip but took pain killers for the flight and was ok.
Five days into my holiday I realised I had not had to take any more painkillers, and although not walking without some stiffness and discomfort I felt better than I had for a long while, perhaps the warm weather had a part to play or had I forgot to pack arthur?? and left him at home in England?? on the sixth day however I woke in the night with a very painful episode just a reminder that he had come along for the trip! I would just like to give thanks to whoever decides to send the painful demon to us for letting me enjoy most of my holiday. Just thought I would share that with you all. I hope that arthur has not been too unkind to you all lately.

Hi Val and Gill, I count myself very lucky as my partner lives in spain so I can go as often as I want. I was worried bout the walk from the departure lounge to the gate as it is quite a long walk but took it slowly and used the moving walkway I took painkillers as I started out on my trip and was fine. I am glad I went it is the most relaxed I have felt for a long time. Definatley go Val, we should try to enjoy our lives anyway. I find it easy to sit at home and feel depressed and try to fight it all the time, getting out and about no matter how difficult is I think the best way to raise our spirits.
Luv to you both x

Hi Val
Menorca is a good choice as the flight is not too long for you. I guess the canaries are nice but the flight is 4hrs. I feel happier on a shorter flight so can usually cope. I hope you find somewhere nice soon. The sunshine and nice environment cant fail to make you feel better

yes keep flight hours down to a minimum...didnt think of that.... cos the air pressure made my feet swell, that was 4 hours.... think in all thruth was prob becos the day was long...going to the airport b4 flight etc...waiting around etc... but its worth it!
