Feeling worried about travelling next week i have a week in spain and travelling there on my own, I dont go out of the house much now if i can help it, hope the pain doesent start while i am on the plane. if i could have my hip op right now i would. Sorry to be gloomy just had to let it out while the painkillers kick in.

Hi Val how could you sleep through my pain ! lol I am in Kent could you not hear me shouting? how far away are you? I dont have any prescription drugs the doc told me to just take pain Killers but i am calling on monday for prescription ones. I have started filling in the dissability allowance form so perhaps wont have to pay for my prescript at some point. Whats bothering me is that my other joints are very sore especially my knees and i feel as though i have lost a lot of strength in my hands, but i guess without another xray i would nt know if it is any where else other than my hip as i am new to this not sure what to expect. i find watching something funny on tv is a good mood lifter just dont want to be gloom and doom all the time! I hope things are not too bad with you at the mo have a nice day :)

Hi Jill I am couple of mins drive from Rainham so very near to where you used to live I am near the Bowater roundabout. The doc said in a casual manner "its only wear and tear" so i am guessing O A. I am definatley asking for decent painkillers first thing in the morning. I havent been offered any yet. My xray results at the docs 2 months ago said mild to moderate arth in the hip but is much worse now, the pain seems to be increasing steadily it takes a long time for ibuprofen to kick in. Dont think i will be able to cope without some serious painkillers in the months to come before my op.

Oh it was tou Jenny that woke me up with a scream .. im with Jilley there you do need stronger painkillers.. are you on any anti inflamatorys too.. sounds like your meds need updating. If you are being condidered for a hip operation that suggest to me you OA is more than mild to moderate. they dont give you that kinda op for nothing.

Secondly re your DLA form dont forget to photocopy it. one in case they loose it and two because you need to know what you have put down when you have to resubmit. And even though you get DLA you still have to pay for your prescriptions unless you are exempt. Good luck with that xx

Hi Jill its a small world! I have my house on the market at the moment trying to find somewhere smaller easier to manage and in a quieter place now the kids are grown i dont need a big garden and house to look after. Need to take it easier and somewhere with out stairs and steps would be nice.
