Subject: Anti TNF - which one??

Hi ya. I've had RA for 18 mths. Took Sulfasalazine but still in pain so then added Methotrexate to take along side but side affects of metho were too bad eg flu symptoms and sickness after each dose despite taking folic acid so now have just leuflonmide with co-codamol and celoxib.
Still in pain. it seems to move round my whole body from jaw, wrists, hands, knees, feet etc. etc. Kids and partner are really patient and understanding but I am now fed up with constant pain.

I am due back at rheumy on wed for second DAS score and have been told I'll probably be eligble for anti-TNF so I have to decide which one I would like.....I dont care how they are administered I just want the best one. Can anyone here recommend or tell me their experiences of these drugs ??

Hi Claire Ive been on enbrel for about four years now and I would not be without it. Ive had RA for over twenty years, and its been the best thing I have had no side effects and it is still working well , I have had very few flare ups and when I do they are very mild compaired to how they used to be. There are are few others like Jill who is on it too, and there are a coupleof others in here who are taking the other ones, Im sure they will come and talk to you. Mind you I still does not take away all the pain but it does slow the disease down. Take care hope this helps.

Claire im same as Lynne...on MTX and Enbrelllsulfasalazine didnt work, just made me sick.... enbrel seems the one they offer...some take Remicade....I use to talk to an american arthritis group, most said that Enbrel worked for them, by injections tho... also Like Lynne said, still get flare ups, but they r mild, and far far lesss often, but also milder than before.....there really isnt anything that is a cure is there for artha, so the next best thing is the ANTI TNFS!

goood luck ok.....Brenda if U read this, can U ask your thymmy about Enbrel?
