Brenda we all r..... its jsut a name...its like an umbrellla type name....rhummy being posh.... its arthritis...dont worry...wot matters most is that u r getting the correct meds so u dont end up with joint damage.......everyone in here has arthritis...some inflamatory artha, R.A. Osteo Artha....cervical spondylosis...Reiters disease....HLA b27 pos type peeps... DDD disc degeneration disease, some with eye diseae due to the Artha(like me)....spinal problems, and many of us have had constant corrective surgery...ive had 7 ops since 2003! and a spine Fusion in the not too distant future.....so i think we all know how ya feeling, U arnt alone in here, trust me!

Just a thought Brenda...have u gooogled the word? will help u understand the types that come under that umbrellla spondy etc

I've google Seronegative Arthropathies, and I come up with things, I am affraid, I will be become cripple. as my husband was saying to me , if I don't take the meds that I will become cripple, which scared me to do it..

Hi Brenda jill is right it is a pretenshious (can't spell that) clinical word to say you have arthritis. I googles it and that term applies to many forms of arthritis it's not a name for one kind. As jill lists abouve there are many forms of arthritis. Give your rheumy nurse a ring and tell her you are a little confused about what your specialist told you. She is more likely to give you a laymans explanation. And will help to put your mind at rest.
Jill and I have lived with arthritis etc for over twenty years and we still have a life. The meds are important part of that they slow the disease down so you get less damage in the future. Hope this helps take care xxxx
