hi i know its about time i saw doc at hospital but the thing is i trust my doc and know she belives me lol. what if u go hospital and they dont listen the same and think it all in my head. i know its not, to painfull 4 that but hate talking to docs they intimidate me i must admit. will take oh with me he will give me strenth and hold my hand lol so will be good and tell doc all that going on not just what i think she needs to know lol how do u all cope with the docs at hospital cant wait to hear :-)

Val, can your doctor refer you to a rheumy? Mine did and they are keeping in contact so they can talk about the symptoms that I have when at home and the results from hospital tests. The rheumy will have a bigger picture of what's going on I'm guessing, as I understand you're in a lot of pain. The questions they ask seem never ending! My doctor is amazing and she listens to everything I have to say. I saw Dr. Perry at Derriford and he was very nice - so understanding when I told him my hands were reacting to sunlight - I felt like such an idiot telling him! Talk to your doctor about seeing a rheumy.

Hi Val yes you ask your doc to refer you i was scared and yes there is a million questions to answer but once they get the big picture they can treat you more. i'm due to see my rhummy again this week and im scared as fingers still swollen and i know its going to be more meds which im dreading but they do help. Anyway let us know how u get on take care x

thanks i am such a baby about these things its easy if it is 4 some one else lol. i have come to realise that things will not settle as had hoped and yes things r getting worse u dont always take note of the changes but they all add up this time last year was going keep fit and could do most of it now can not even walk for 20min with out a lot of pain so will bite the bullet and sort it mind u will wait till my doc gets back got enough pain killers ect to last then will b brave thanks will need a good talking to on the 16th ready lol so i dont back out :-)

Pleased your going to make an appointment with a rheumy. You seem to be having slot of probs at the moment with your hands and feet. I think your rheumy will help sort that out. You can always take someone with you to ask the questions plus they take more of the infomation in. The rheumy I have now is lovely chap I don't have any probe with him. Good luck and keep us informed xxxx

Be brave val it is offputting in the begining to tell someone all about your illness but the benefits of getting the right treatment for you far outweight this. If you get your athritis under control you'll have a far better quality of life. You'll wonder why you didn't do it sooner. I know we keep going on about being firm with your rheumy but they are not all bad. Most are carding it's just that they see so many poorly peeps that if you don't tell them everything and really how pain fill it is they will give you the least amount of treatment. You need to make them understand how I'll you have been with it and how bad you feel. Once they know that you'll get the treatment you need. Glad your being brave sweetie. Take care xx

thanks lynne was bit down at weekend fed up with it. normaly cope ok but sometimes it all gets to much as u know we all like a light at the end of the tunnel but with this there is not any. takes a bit of getting your head around, ended up on a site where they help u fill forms in and as looked at them realised most of them applied to me and how i was at weekend just set me off thinking how bad things had got in a short time lol. much better today and head on straight again lol so no more feeling sorry till next time

hi val just browsing and after reading what you are going through please be brave and get the help you need i was diagnosed in feb 09 after lots of tests and i also thought docs n nurses didnt beleive me and iam on metoject injections which i do myself once a week and feeling better sometimes i get a flair thats why im browsing now cos i was feeling fed up but when i read your story ithought maybe i could offer you a little support go for it .
