Hi guys, jsut a qwikie, just bk from seeing Sine surgeon(hes Yum) anyway, as some of u knoe, ive had a spine op called Dynesys(kinda bolt like structure to support the fact two discs went, now a third had, anyway he wants to do a fusion op! eeek...OR he said he cld add to the dynesys structure...but becos i have REiters, means i dont recover fast enuff after ops etc, soft tissues etc... takes longer than usual to recover.... so hes seeing me again in 6/8 wks...and I have to decide what i shld do.... Blimey its goona take me such a long time to recover....was 8 months b4 with the dynesys, its usual to recover around 2 months..... but not me! typical huh/ anyway, any one that has had Fusion of the spine, please send any info goood or bad please... im a big girl, i can take it LOL..... will get your replies when I return from hols...x

Hi Jill
Spinal fusion surgery takes pressure off the nerves that are causing pain, by restoring the alignment of the spine or the space between the vertebrae, and then stabilizing and fusing the spine, i did work in Orthopaedics years ago, but did not have such a bad back myself then. I hope things go well for you.

Awwww thanks guys... support in here is alwasy fab.... mind u thought there wld be more peeps that have had fusion....... val ive had a long hard think about this over my hols..... whilst scofffing myself having bbqs everynights and qwaffffing my bottle of wine LOL....i do have a choice...its Dynesys(like i had b4) bolts in spine, bit like a scaffolding job! to supports the spaces where the Discs shld be!! or the bigger op...fusion, my gorjus spine surgeon said that, becos of the Reiters that I have(soft tissues take longer to recover and ops can cause major flare ups) he prefered that I have fusion... but told me the recovery is longer!! so my guesss is taht Fusion altho prob better for me....will be ages gettting better.... my prob is....mic can only have 9 weeks offf at most...and my last op toook at least 8 months to recover..and that wasnt Fusion, was still a major op having 4 bolts put in spine, but ¦fusion is a bigger job appprently.....I guesss ive decided to have the Fusion, becos both r goona hurt and I think both r bad recover for me....so mite as well have the best type of spine surgery...and take it from there......as I said b4, my prob is the kids....they have to be driven to skool and back...oh well, will worry about that anmother time..... also, Mic and I had a fab hols.....and we want to take kids there...its in HAYLE, Gwithan... check the beaches out...they surf, all ages...body boarding etc...and my kids wld love that....the campsite was fab...our pitch was Hugemungus(cld pitch three tents in the one pitch we had....so boooked it for two weeks nxt year.... so im goooona try go as long as I can b4 this op happens, and try and get my kids on that Hols, becos they deserve it....and I can wipe out at least 9/10months of the year that I have my op.....so want that for my kids first.... sorrry rambling here LOLO(LOL
