Subject: Hypochondriac or what?
Hi everybody :). I just found this message board as I was trying to find information of arthiritis. I've got the idea that it is often difficult to diagnose the different types of arthiritis from what I have read. I'm myself in a very frustrating situation because I have had pains in my knees, elbows and fingers for about five years now but have never been referred to a specialist. I have talked about my arthiritis to couple of GPs and they have been very dismissive. The pain can be very bad, especially during periods, but can also go for a while. My joints don't usually get swollen but they get very stiff especially after resting. I'm also generally very tired and have psoriasis. I don't know if these could be linked to this as well. I'd like to get a diagnosis so I can stop doing things that potentially makes the pain worse. However, I feel like the GPs see me as a hypochondriac as I have been asking for help with this several times already. Anybody else had similar experiences? Any suggestions what I could do? I really don't know where to go from here. Thank you for your answers in advance. -Mia
