i struggle with mine and it often upsets me as like you say Della we do it sooo much better, my patner does most of it but i can't help but feel guilty over it as he works long hours and he cooks for us too. My Ironing pile is bigger than me LOL. I live with 3 males too they are a nightmare hehe.
I tell my partner everyday how grateful i am for his help and he say's he wouldn't have it any other way, i think i am very lucky as there are not many 25 year old blokes who would stay at home and look after us.
Sorry getting all soppy lol.
I get really tired too when i have done housework i cleaned my kitchen the other day it takes me ages grrr i had finished and just sat down 5 mins and i had fell to sleep, then woke in a panick as i was late to fetch the kids from school lol.

Hi gals I struggle with housework too, but sometimes(this is the part I hate about this condition) I cant b bothered, I use to be hyperactive and enjoy doing housework to a point lol....but now I do try, but also i dont be bothered...takes me ages to get motivated...take now for example, im on here and place is a messs....not dirty, but untidy, kids do help, but only do the minimum... hate asking for help, thats y im scared to go in for my Op... Amelia he sounds lovely, he loves u very much, plus U deserve the help u get... one day u will get this under control, and he wont have to help so much...dot feel bad, he wants U to get well....my fella is gr8 too, I cant do iro ning as such, can iron the odd thing, but if I get stuck in my neck, shoulders and back kick offf...its not worth the pain....my fella has been away 2 weks tues...the ironing is HUGE!! lol

Hello all, I love to do my own house work,I get a good buzz when everything is nice and clean, wel I did til I got this bloody OA,my boyfriend helps me a lot, but I hate having to sit and watch him doing what I should be doing. At the moment I'm suffering badly with Bursitis so I can hardly walk, fed up having to ask people to do stuff for me. I'm only 43 but I feel like 90.

hi Bernie...yes ive had those pain patches...transtec I think they r called, but there is another name for them, ws on them about 2 years ago...but I was on the highest dose! went back to my New gp, whos fab and now im on Zomorph 100 twice a day(slow release morphine) and I found them so much better for me...remember tho we r all different, diff pain thresholds etc.. I found the patches Brilliant for a while, but I needed a higher dose and they refused, thats y I went on to Zomorph.... I also found the patched made me feel sick... do get that? also do u feel better on them? and how is that Hip? are they going to remove it? it is quite a large op, got a 9inch scar down my leg, faded great tho...did your consultant say that the Bursitis will go?

Hi Jill, just back from A+E,both my hips are so sore, the patch I was on was no good so he doubled the dose,it's called Butrans. No mention of removal, I'm waiting to see the consultant again, he will probably inject it again, I bloody hate them. I'm gonna put the new patch on now, I'll check back in later to let you know how I get on. TTFN

Subject: Re: housework and things

This subject really gets me down. I used to have the most beautifully clean, spotless house and was really house proud, almost to the point of being obsessed with it all, but sadly thats just all gone down the pan since having RA. Trouble is i think i've got some kind of
OCD about it all, in that if i can't do the housework or a particular chore absolutely perfectly, then i'd just rather not do it at all. I do get a little bit of help now and then but i don't like asking for help coz feel bad not doing it myself so feel awkward asking for help. Plus like others have said it never seems to get done like we do it. I find the saying "A tidy house equals a tidy mind" to be sooo true. So coz my house is a dump these days so is my mind and i get so depressed and frustrated with it all. I'd love to be able to get a cleaner in for a couple of hours a week or one of these people who come round and help you get an organised and have a really good clear out but can't afford it. It's all like a vicious circle, because i try to tidy a room but end up over doing it then put myself out for about 4 or 5 days after, by which time it's all messy again arrgghh!. Ho hum! To think i used to work over 50 hours a week some weeks and run a house and bring up my son without any problem what so ever. Now i can barely even manage to cook my sons meals let alone do any housework or hold down a job.

Take care Sweeties. xhugsx

I sympathise. I think one of the hardest things about RA is not being able to do what you used to. Letting things go at home gets me down too... i only manage to do the basics each day... a thorough clean or sort out, or ironing regularly has not been possible. Its really hard to accept and also really hard to feel good about yourself when people might judge your home. I feel quite sad, but you have to accept your limits. donna

Lol Val. Tell me about it, men and toilets, what is that all about eh? It used to drive me mad when i was busting for a pee i'd be frantically trying to get me pants down (please try to ignore that vision lol) and then i'd finally sit down and ewwwwww!!! bloomin toilet seat wet through ewwwwww yuck!!! So i think you can all guess the result from that, urghh! I've trained them now to put the lid down after themselves as i've fell right in the loo a couple of times when the seats up. But the cleaning of the seat i am still having to go on at them about. Not as much as i used to though so things are looking up. Theres 2 males in my house, well 4 with my 2 cats lol. I think i'm a little out numbered as i'm the only female lol.
