Subject: Taking Medication

Hiya Everyone,I know we are supposed to take our medication with food, but i am needing mine at 5 am and last thing at night now it is hard to know what to take it with, because those times are when i just dont want to eat. I used to take my painkillers with half a cracker, but with having a dry throat now with the sulfa they are like cardboard.I have tried rich tea biscuits but they are the same, any suggestions please?

Hello Angela

I think the best solution would be for you to take a stomach protector, like omeprazole, then you would be ok to take your meds at any time of night or day without needing to have them with food or them causing stomach probs.
I'm sure that if you asked your GP they would give you a prescription.

Louise and Val Thanks for your replies.
I am on sulfasalizine mainly, codydramol and ibrufen when needed.
I dont have any stomach problems,(yet) I always eat something with each tablet as i was told.
My main problem is since taking sulfa my throat is dryer, and early morn and late night, I just cant face food, so i was wondering if anyone had the same problem and ate something that could go down easy and quick, and if so what is it. I probably didnt explain myself very well trust me. lol
