leukonychia or white spots on the nail are most often caused by damage caused to the nail bed, mostly its just damage like a bruise.
it can sometimes be an allergy to a nail product that you use,varnish and so on.
however it can be the result of a zinc deficiency.
have you noticed any hairloss? thats sometimes associated with zinc deficiency.
it can also be caused by infection.
its got nothing to do with calcium at all(old wives tale)
