Has anyone tried radically improving their diet and eating all anti inflammatory foods and has it made a noticeable difference

hi Carol
there has been several on here trying it ,

presonaly had RA for 25 years & only found food that makes it worse , ie: nightshade fruits - oranges , apples , other people say gluten free & lactose free , just try things & see it they help , we are all different so what works for one will not work for others

I'm trying foods that contain iron, i.e. Liver. Spinach.

Has anyone tried going to an osteopath? My husband used to go, just seemed to cost him a lot of money.v

Hi Val, I went to both a chiropractor and an osteopath before I realised it was RA that I had as my shoulder had been very sore. The chiropractor manipulated my shoulder and I almost passed out with the pain so I certainly wouldn't recommend it, I was told by a rheumatology specialist that it can be dangerous when you have inflammation. The osteopath wasn't so bad but didn't help so my answer would be no to both. I did find that massage helped a bit. x

I'm with you Lucy massage is the way to go. So much more gentle.
I went to Ostepath years ago and it was so painful I didn't go back again

Take care Val and stay safe.

Also take Turmeric or cucumin with black pepper, this seems to be a 'must have' as it's advertised in all different forms. Does it help? God knows I swallow it anyway.

Hi Val, I was just like you are in the beginning of my struggle. I took just about everything out there.
I will be honest with you none of them worked for me.
I went back to hot water bottles and heat pads.
I also take Gabapentin and Co-Dydramol.
I don't necessarily like taking the pain killers and take far less than recommended.
I manage most days. The days I don't manage so well I rest up.

It is good you are trying alternatives because you just never know something could work for you. There are some on here that swear by special diets and supplements.
I hope you find your happy medium soon.
Take stay safe x
