Subject: New diagnosis. Starting meds. Nervous.

I've just been diagnosed with seronegative rheumatoid arthritis. Due to be starting meds this weekend and feeling a bit nervous about it.
Any advice on tagging sulfasalazine and hydroxychloroquine? How am I likely to feel? Would it be best to plan days at home with my 3year old for a bit?

HI Rosie, It's only natural to feel a bit nervous, I was the same. I have found both of those drugs to be very helpful and with the sulphasalazine you will start it gradually. Having a diagnosis doesn't necessary entitle you to PIP, it really depends how it affects you with mobility and taking care of yourself. There is no harm in applying but it can be quite difficult to get onto it now.
