Subject: Back muscle spasms

Does anyone else suffer from muscle spasms in their back. I'm not sure if i've pulled a muscle or if it could be connected to the RA but it's quite severe and can stop me from sleeping at night.

Hi Lucy,

Sorry to hear your hurting on your back from muscle spasm, it could be pulled muscle, try sleeping on the back itself and apply some vicks or hot water bottle might ease it off or some say to apply ice to the area.

Hope you feel well soon

Take care

xx

Hi Suz, Thanks for your reply. I had this a wee while back and it was horrible. The spasms only last a few seconds but it is doing it every couple of minutes and driving me mad. I am sitting with my massager on at the moment.

How are you keeping? I hope things are a bit better for you. I haven't been out at all for a couple of days now as we have snow here and it's gone all slushy and i'm frightened i'll fall so hoping it clears soon. xx

Hi Lucy, we are getting all the cold air down south so the heating has been on every day. Thankful for having the heating.

My knees have been aching quite bit so have been resting them. I do feel joints get more swollen when I have eaten something not healthy.

Hope your Massager helps the back pain. Its good idea not to go out with slushy snow on the ground until its cleared. Hopefully the sun will be shining with some warmer weather soon. xx

Lucy have you tried a TENs m/c , it will help relay the core muscles in your back & help stop compression of your back ,

the massagers can help but would use a tens as well , hope its felling better soon , can take time

Hi Suz, I hope your knees are feeling a bit better today, do you use any supports on them? I used to find they helped a bit. My hip has been really sore and i'm having to use my stick to hobble about although today it does feel slightly better. I had my daughters dog here the other day and I think walking with him through the snow has strained it, that's the one I broke and it has never been the same since.

The weather here is meant to get wet and milder over the next few days so here's hoping it will get rid of the snow, although it does look pretty.
Take care xx

Hi Colin,

I do have a wee tens machine somewhere but haven't used it in years as i didn't really find it helped but I didn't pay much for it so it may be worth getting a better one. Is yours an expensive one? I don't mind paying a bit more if it helps.

I hope things are getting a bit better for you now, Colin. Take care x
