This forum has been ruined by the less than savoury people who think it is ok to try to sell their stuff on a website for people suffering every day. Apart from the fact what they are selling is against everything decent people stand for.
It is such a shame that human beings can become so selfish and engulfed in their own importance.
Take care all you genuine people that use this site.

I agree, it isn't right that these people are using our site to sell things that are not even legal. Let's ignore them and hope that the regular people that have good advice for the genuine sufferers come back on. I miss hearing from you all, Colin, Sean, Julie, Lois and many more, please come back on...it's not the same without you.

Hi Lucy, how are you doing. I haven't been on for a while have loads going on. I am waiting to have Carpal Tunnel Surgery and now my hips are shot.
I have been so fed up with it all. I have taken a couple of short breaks over here to just get away from it all.
I shouldn't moan really their are lots worse off than me.
We had a big storm last night the lighting was amazing and the rain was absolutely chucking it down. Today we had a power cut for 4 hours so eating out had to be done. The power came back on just as we got home. I am sitting with my feet up now.
I hope you and your family are all well (as can be).
Take care and I will pop back in for a chatxx
I have noticed how quiet the forum is.

Hi Lois, It's lovely to hear from you again but sorry to hear that you are suffering and waiting on surgery. Are both your hips giving you bother? Have they offered you a steroid to ease it? I'm having some pain with the one I got done abroad. I always enjoyed my walks at the loch but finding the hip hurts after I've hardly got half way round. I prefer swimming now and find it so much easier on the joints. I took out a membership with DW Sports and the water is never too cold.

You timed it well with the power cut, that was good it came on when you got home. We have had quite a lot of rain here although today has been ok. We are going away on Tuesday for a week so i'm hoping I can walk around ok, i think I will be taking my stick with me, although it makes me feel old when I use it lol.
I better get moving as I have a chicken in the oven and can smell it (probably burning) catch up later. Lovely that Lara has posted, i will message her later xx

Hi Lucy, Both hips are gone osteoarthritis is the cause. I have had steroids to be honest they really did not help.
I notice it more when walking and now I am using a stick like you I am not keen but it is better than tripping and falling LOL. I am more bothered by the carpal tunnel and wish they would hurry up. (NHS are great but the lists are so long).

I hope you are going somewhere warm. Although it is warm here at the minute. I am looking for some more short breaks.
Your swimming sounds good. I just hate the cold water now and there is no where local here.

It was lovely to hear from Lara.

You take good care and enjoy that break. xx

Hi Colin, I was sitting with a cup of tea and nearly chocked on it a quad bike a big wheelchair. I am not sure the boss will fall for that one.
I am sorry you are having so much trouble we could all do with a year off from all this rubbish.
I had not heard of your hip problem so I googled it. Gosh that sounds awful. Your poor knees.
I am trying to just get on with it although I am having a lot of bad days now.

Anyway less of the gloom the weather was great for a while so it needs to come back. I am off to a wedding in 3 weeks and its outside so the sun is needed.

You take and best wishes to you and the boss. x

hi Lois , have got a wheelchair for myself now but its to big to use around the house , so keep it in the car when I need it

think at some point we will move to some where alot smaller & bit move wheelchair friendly , been here thirty years so will be hard & miss the space we have here but the house is late Victorian with most the original features & would not like to make the place open plan etc

hope you have a good trip & wedding , couple of our nieces & nephews are getting married but we cant make them which is a shame

Hi Colin, I lived in my last house for over thirty years three kids all grew up there. I moved to a cottage in the country 4 years ago and I have never looked back.
I know what you are saying about taking the character away from a house. It is hard I have always lived the town life but I love the country much more slower and that suits me better. No one tutting behind me when I have a really slow day.
I hope you find a lovely new home which will make things easier for you.
No opting out of wedding as it is my youngest son. We are staying at the hotel for the week-end so I don't have to rush around.

Take care x
