Subject: Sulfazaline side effects

Have been taking sulfasaline for 4 weeks have just managed to increase the dose to two tablets daily after suffering horrendous bowel probs when first started trying to increase dosage. Have been taking for three days now and have started having nosebleeds, fever and sore throat anybody else experienced this and should I stop taking them or just drop down to one tablet until I can contact my rhreumy nurse or gp. Thanks in advance

Hi Anne, sorry to hear you are having problems with your meds. I take them and fingers crossed I have never had any problems.
You could always get advice by calling 111.
Any A&E should be able to advise you what to do.
Take care hope this helps.

Anne, I am glad to hear you are feeling better. It is difficult getting the meds right.
Once you are sorted on the correct meds things will become better. We get flares unfortunately but life is still all good just different. We have to listen to our bodies more and soon learn what is best for us.
I was undiagnosed for a good few years but now I am managing well.
I hope each day becomes better for you take care and pop in now and again and let me know how you are doing. X
