Subject: Thyroid Problems

I was once told by a Thyroid Specialist(ive had most of my Thyroid removed 15 years ago) that Thyroid Problems are connected to Arthritis!!... this surprised me a lot, the reason im asking this question to who ever wants to reply to it, is this, Ive read messages on here from many many people over the months and ive also spoken to many of u lovely people to, yet I have never seen any one mention or ask about the Thyroid.... mb thats becos luckily none of u have had probs with it,, or mb its becos many dont realise its a connected condition....so basically im being Nosy as usual and wonder how many others have or had Thyroid probs whilst having R.A. or any other Arthritis probs....

Altho im ok regards my thyroid, its began to regrow(most was removed)... but I havnt seen anyone else mention the Thyroid... just interested in how many of us here have expereinced problems on here, becos I seem to be the only person that I know(apart from my parents) that have had probs with it, I know many people, friends etc, No one has ever had Issues with it, Glad they havnt of course, but I seem to get everything that is rare, or so it seems...for a start having REITERS is so rare, its almost unheard of in women... yet I have it(due to a defective Gene HLA B27Pos) predisposed me to the rare disease....Sorry rambling here,

Thanks guys

WOW KIm your the first person thas had the same op as me, huge lump grew on my thyroid, but they removed 90% of it, left a little, but 15 years ago thats what they use to do, these days they dont leave any in, they remove the lot, due to fact , it does Regrow, my prob at the mo, but its ok, im not on any thyroxine for my Little tyroid piece left behind, now and again my bloods show Underactivity, but then next time it shows my tyroid is coping, but if it gets very Under then i will have to go on thyroxine....Sorry nto ehar about your recent diagnosis, do research, but make sure you dont frighten yourself reading the probs that others have or are facing, LOL if i told u mine u wld be horrified, BUT the most important thing of all Kim, is we are all Different, u may have it very mildly, Please dont panick, take one day at a time, thats what I do, I face each problem head on, I try and stay Positive, most of the time, best we can do.

let me know how u get on ok
