Subject: Absence

Hi. Every now and again I need the odd day off work due to a flare up and although my employers have had a letter from my doctor stating I have RA and may need time off for flare ups now have an investigation meeting after a day off due to a flare up which could lead to a written warning. I have been asking for months for them to refer me to their occupational health and after I insisted this needed to be done they are now in the process of arranging this. Does anyone have any advice my meeting is on Tues 6th Dec

Good luck with your meeting on the 6th. I think you should bring someone with you like a union rep or someone who might be more familiar with employment rights etc. I hope that helps. best of luck Julie. Maria. :)

Hi Julie, I myself have been having some trouble lately with work. I'm currently working reduced hours thanks to a doctors note and my work did refer me to their occupational health who agreed I need reduced hours (thank goodness!)
The annoying thing for me was when I went to the OH, it was a 'good day' I looked totally fine and felt OK. The only advice I could really offer is that you tell them everything in terms of your pain, don't leave anything out and hopefully they will understand.
I hope it goes well for you.
