sorry to hear about the breast cancer Margaret, I really hope the treatment goes well and you feel better soon. Why would you lose your pip though? I don't understand why you would need to inform them especially when you are needing more hip surgery. It's understandable you don't feel up to it at the moment as you will need time to get over your recent surgery. I think if you explain to them that you need time to recover you can should be able to delay the operation on your hip until you are stronger. I don't know if you would be allowed to have a steroid injection for the pain or not or at least some pain killers until you are more able to face the operation. Good luck with it all xx

Hi lucy thanks so much for your support i had a right hip replacement 3 years ago now need left done on tramedol for pain. Now the cancer they only gave me standard pip but now my condition is far worse and mobility very poor. Need to be taken to hospital for treatment every day about 80 miles want to try and get some more help with mobility but scared to tell pip about changes. So grateful for what i already get. Hope that makes a bit more sense than previous message was on a real downer that day. Am having to try to carry on working part time just to afford costs. Have heard that you are reassessed if you report changes and some people have lost thier whole allowance.

When you are a genuine case like you are Margaret I don't think that would happen especially if your mobility has got worse but the way things are at the moment anything is possible. Do you get the mobility part of the disability allowance at the moment? if not then you should definitely apply for it. Take care and I really hope things improve for you soon xx

Yes lucy I get the lowest rate I was very honest when I applied and I could walk more than 20 meters with my stick or on a bad day crutches the fact I couldn,t walk back didn,t seem to concern them. So you see I am quite lucky compared to many and was quite happy with what I got when working but now it,s hard as I only get sickness benefit and that just about pays for a weeks transport every month I,ll give them a ring and test the water. Wish me luck

I will Margaret. Would the hospital not be able to arrange transport for you? That must be a terrible expense for you. Let me know how you get on. xx
