Subject: Steroid Injections

Hi guys

Jill here, Having a flare up, so far lasted nearly week and half, had Steroid Injection last Thurs...but this time around(havnt had Injection for a year) it has not done the job, I still have Elbow and wrist pain...anyone else Not felt better after a Steroid Jab, for me it has always worked, but hastn so far....any info please?

sorry u r having such a bad time of it. u must b feeling low with the injection not working, not got that bad so far fingers crossed it will b years yet. hope u feel better soon look after your self

Jill - sorry to hear it didn't help. I've only experienced this once. It was just after I'd had my twins and went into a massive flare - I called the hospital after a few days and had to go back in after a couple of weeks and they did it again and it made a big difference. Do you know if they put a different amount of steriod in to previously?

I havent thought of that, My Biologics Nurse at the Hosp did it, usually my fab GP does it, but he was on hols, However, My lady Nurse is gr8, she knows me well, But I will ring her and mention it, beoc its been a week, and still Im the same... but your question is interesting, so thanks Sandy, hope your doing ok

I'm due to have one in my back this week and am so scared as I will be put under a light anesthetic hope it works though

Hi jill, its me christine again, just seen your post, i had that much steroid last year i am immune to it they said,i had loads of kenalog injections, then i had 3 infusions of steroids, and it did not touch me, but i had a kenalog this year in my bum for all my body and it did help,so its hard to say, but in the early stages it really did help, but know i am told to take calcium tablets for the damage steroids cause.x. christine
