Subject: newbie

Have been just diagnosed with RA ,has steriod injection which has not helped ,starting my tablets next week,the pain is terrible how do you cope ? xx

Hi Barb, Once you get onto the right treatment and it starts to work you will feel better. It can be very difficult when you are first diagnosed as the drugs can take a wee while to work. If you are suffering a lot your doctor may prescribe some oral steroids until your other meds kick in although it isn't a good idea to take steroids for too long. You could always ask for another injection. x

Hi Barb, Lucy is right, it can take some time to find what's right for you. Hang in there and if something isn't working let them know.When did you have the injection? They can sometimes take time to kick in.
