Alan Hello, Before Humira, I took Emberil. There are some differences for me. First is biweekly injections, cause it's like wasp stings. I allow the chill to knock off of it too. If you have specific q's I'd be happy to help, if I can

Thanks Colin,
It's good to know you hear good things about Humira. My first delivery arrives on Friday so I'll find out.

Thanks Juanita,
Can't say I relish the thought of inflicting bi-weekly wasp stings on myself but great if it works!
It's useful to know you let the chill knock off before you use it.
Thanks too for the offer of answering specific questions which I might have when I start.

I used Humira for about 3 years. The wasp sting isn't fun but I allowed the injection to warm a little, as others have mentioned. Then I took a deep breath in, released the pen and breathed out through the ouch. Humira lessened my general and localised pain, to the extent it was not constantly acutely in my conscious awareness. This was a mercy. I did not recover mobility however, and wish I had pushed hard at the window of reduced pain. I was not offered NHS domiciliary physiotherapy, private are scared to touch me, and I feel this might have been a window of opportunity missed. Why did I stop it? I had no scares, it just lost its mojo and I began to feel the disease process breaking through to move into my right hand. Best of luck.

Hello Katie, A belated reply but thanks for your comments.I was sorry to learn you eventually stopped Humira but pleased to hear it had helped for a while. What are you taking now?
I had my first injection last week. I think they've made some changes to the solution as I was expecting a wasp sting but felt absolutely nothing - not even the needle! Early days but so far I've had no side effects apart from tummy pain a few hours after the injection which passed after twenty minutes.
I hope whatever treatment you are on now is helping. Thanks for wishing me the best of luck. That's what I'm hoping for! Alan
