Hi Gill, before I was diagnosed with RA I would feel pain in my shoulder then it would move to my arm or ankle and then disappear for a while then come back, so yes it can happen like that. Once you get onto the correct medication you should feel a lot better. Take care and let us know how you get on and feel free to ask any questions. Good luck at your appointment xx

hi gill , remember twenty years ago being told I was positive for Rheumatiod Factor so had RA , I went down hill pretty quick because all the anti-inflammatory tablets caused my asthma to play up & endded up on sulpha & later methotrexate are you positive for RA & do you know the number , pleased you got a appointment pretty quick , it varies how RA affects people , some have it very mild & easy to control , about 10% end up with joint damage & need replacement/fusion & thier understanding is so much better than when I started with alot of development in drugs try to be positive & they should get it under control within a few months

hi Gill https://www.verywell.com/what-is-an-anti-ccp-test-190281 Anti-CCP, which stands for anti-cyclic citrullinated peptide antibody, is a blood test which helps your doctor confirm a diagnosis of rheumatoid arthritis. others blood test include Rheumatiod Factor , C-Reactive Protein (CRP) Test & Sedimentation Rate (ESR) , the last two are inflammation test http://www.arthritisandpainclinic.com/blood-tests.html in the link section above , you will find three very good arthritis charites websites , two has phone service for advice , arthritis care , arthritis research UK & National Rheumatiod Arthritis Society , they have loads of information on there sites

hi gill , RF is raised if above 20 , 100 is not high , mine was 450 when I was tested , it means very little , the higher tends to have a harder to control RA , know little about CCP but if you are having joint problems & positive for RF & CCP then it looks like RA RF wont get tested much because it tells them very little & they will use CRP & ESR which is inflammatory markers
