Subject: shooting pains in head
I'm wondering if anyone else gets sharp shooting pains in their head and if so what they take for it. I think it could be coming from my shoulders but the pains are a bit worrying as they have been coming and going all day.

It could be Colin but not sure. I'm not sure if it's coming from my shoulders and the joint above my ear (can't remember what it's called) is sore. I was at the foot clinic today so they have emailed the rheumy nurse and she will contact me and maybe get a steroid injection if it doesn't settle, it's not just as bad today. How are you doing? has your leg got any better?

Are you thinking of the temporomandibular joint, Lucy? That can become inflammed and cause quite severe shooting pain. I had it last year for a while. It eased off once I'd had a steroid injection (depo madrone, not in the joint.)

I also had shooting pain in my jaw, GP said it was the same thing. Has it eased off at all today?

It's not so bad today, thanks, s/f. Before the pains started I had what I thought was earache and my shoulder is still very sore, I'm hoping I get a call soon to go for the steroid. xx
