Subject: R.A diagnosed .where do I go from here

Hi .Recently had xray guided injection, to thumb ,unfortunately has not worked. The pain at times unbearable. Pain in knee joints and left hip (nasty road traffic accident 20 yrs ago)
Rather not take medication , just exhausted, lack of night sleep.
Dr seems uninterested. Any help appreciated.

Thanks

hi Sue , why dont you want to take medication , the main reason is to control RA by stopping your own body attacting itself with drugs like methotrexate & if you dont take the drugs the doctors recomment , you can understand them becoming uninterested

the problem is nothing much else helps in controling RA , some people are pretty lucky & have it mild but the rest of us will end up with joint damage

you can get bursitis on the hip which can be painful , you could try some gels from the chemist
