Subject: New to Enbrel and Getting Pins and Needles

Hi,
I suffer from Psoriatic Arthritis and am on my fifth weekly injection of Enbrel, I am noticing the difference already.

However I have noticed I get pins and needles in the tips of my fingers which has happened around three times now and last night I woke with a numbness in my hands.

My question is should I report this now to my nurse or wait for a little longer as I really don't wont to be taken off the drug as it is making me feel a lot better.

Yes, you must, Debbie. I got taken off it because of similar symptoms that persisted, unfortunately. Serious neurological problems are a rare side effect of Enbrel. I'm not saying that is what you have got but you need to report it. You could just have carpel tunnel symptoms, or some other non-serious problem, on the other hand, and it would be a relief to know that. They can run a few tests or take you off for a bit and see if it improves and then restart you.

Thanks for the reply. If it's decided I need to come off the Enbrel are there other drugs I can try as the pain relief is starting to kick in and I'm feeling a lot better

I've been taking incapsulated a variety of 30 different fruits, vegetables and berries for the past 8 months and my arthritis is hardly an issue anymore. This is because of all the nutrients and berries reduce inflammation. Hope this helps everyone.
