Subject: not safe
I have trouble with my legs at the moment. I can move around the house as I can hold on to things, I do not feel safe when on my own especially if I am out. I am scared I am going to fall.I have not been out on my own for a long time now and feel I have lost my independance. Does any one has any ideas to make this easier.

Karen, it's difficult to know just what the underlying problems are that have put you in this situation, initially it's friends and family, support for your situation, but if is something that has been left untreated then you should certainly seek medical advice . Even at the ripe old age of 63 I have to care for my 99 year old mother, and just now and again, when my legs are bad I use her Zimmer frame, I'd recommend one for any age group, the same with support rails, a chair/stair lift, and maybe some physio to help you get mobile again. If it's a balance problem it may be hearing related, or sight wise then look in that area. Do you live alone, you can get help through social services, they will assess you, it's difficult to understand the problem with your legs, have you had any diagnosis, do you believe medication may be affecting your ability to stand, barry
