Subject: New Year Resolutions

Hi all

I've hit the new year with a dry January and a determination to feel even better and get fitter before I'm 50 in March.

As well as normal gluten free - this week I have been mostly low carb too, as I am trying to help my wife with a dietary approach for high blood pressure called "The Banting Diet" - a diet being used by 1000s for type 2 diabetes.

We have heard that reducing to between 30g and 50g carbs per day will stop blood sugar spikes and then regulate cortisol that causes blood pressure to be high.

I've found that my rice flour, home baking with sugar and rice pasta - despite keeping my pain lower is putting on the weight.

1st week - 4.5 lbs - aiming for 11 stone by March.

Lower sugar / starches has definitely further improved my back and rib cage soreness since Christmas excess. Or perhaps its the lack of alcohol - I'll find out in February when I open the wine again.

Stay positive!
