Subject: Liver Function Bloods Test raised

Hi Everyone, Ages since I posted but need help/advice. My bloods are showing liver problems. Anyone have any advice on how to bring the levels down. I've given up alcohol. I've been on MTX for over 20 years at various levels. But when it was stopped I started to get stiffer and increased pain very quickly. I was hoping that someone had some dietary advice. BTW, I'm type 2 Diabetic too.

Hi Lyn has the doctor siad what problems are showing. There are many markers on the liver function test and depending on where the problem lies depends on what may help! Have you been unwell recently as some times when the body is fighting off an infection/virus the liver has to work harder to process the toxins which can alter your liver test dramaticly.

hi Lyn , I have been on MTX since 1998 & have had problems with raised ALT ( 170 ) & also got type 2

increasing my folic acid to 5mg six days a week help my ALT & it been back to normal ever since ( about 10 years ) & also help thickened my hair up

there can be long term problems being on MTX for the length of time we been on it & know my consultant would like to stop it for that reason but you need to talk to your consultant or rheumy nurse
