This may seem unrelated but for me it's becoming a real headache, I have osteo most major joints plus spondylosis lower back, possibly lower neck with arthritis there as well, in the last 6 months I've experienced a lot of irritation mainly facially, flushing of cheeks, sore eyes, doctor tells me blepharitis, I conciddered it an allergy, stopped gluten, dairy, nuts, eggs, so difficult to detect allergy sensitivity, anyhow I suspected iritis, left eye fully bloodshot, both feel like they're full of rubble, my concern is ocular roseacre, but my confusion is over what exactly I'm dealing with, I am aware having spondylosis can involve having iritis, I'm also aware that a visit to the doctors involves having to educate them, and a long wait to see a 'specialist' may well prove too damaging to my situation. Anybody out there experience eye probs with arthritis/spondylosis, any ideas, anybody, am going to opticians, maybe they can give me referral to a specialist who actually can get it right privately, can't afford to mess aroound on NHS, what price eyesight, thanks barry

Hi Barry, there is definitely a connection with spondylosis and eyes. Your Gp should be fully aware of this. My sister-in-law has regular checks at Moorfields Eye Hospital for this. Your eyes should be cared for by a specialist when you have AS. Your optician should be able to help with a referral but Gp should be your main port of call. Good luck with it all.
