Subject: New here- osteo arthritis

I'm only 29 and i have been diagnosed with osteo arthritis.
I have had on and off pains for about 6 years now but it has increased in the past year. I think mainly due to the fact that we moved to a new area and it's very hilly here.
My hands are also feeling tingly and stiff lately.
I just feel i'm too young for all this! I have a 3 year old daughter and sometimes i feel like i dont want to take her to nursery as it's a miles walk up a steep hill, down and back up again- you get the picture. I come home and have to do it all again 90 mins later.
Sometimes it's like walking in sand, all that extra effort just to keep moving.
I'm feeling a little down, i'm more or less a positive person but i feel defeated. I have to wait 10 weeks for physio, i'm hoping that will help.
I'm sorry my first post here hasn't exactly been up beat, lol but i'm looking forward to getting to know you all.
Love Caroline xx

Hi caroline, welcome, yes Ive been in your position, had to take kids to school shortly after having a major spine op in 2003, hubby had to return to work, I had to manage 5 kids, my life isnt any easier, as I now have to have another major spine op, due to disc disease, U MUST go and see a rhumatologist and get any help u can to help keep Upbeat, its a very insidious disease, no one knows like us lot on here, I have a very rare Reiters disease, thats left me with inflamatory arthritis, I have had 7 corrective ops on different joints, due to inflamation damage, Us lot on here try and support one another, we have giggles, we have ((((HUGS)))) and we have tears....Im personally going thru a bad flare up at the mo, and even tho I am on Immune suppresants to stop the disease Progressing, people like me that r on those very toxic Meds, still suffer, fatigue is the worst thing, along with the pain!

hope we can help and support u on here, i have found some very lovely gals on here and guys, so always feel free to tell us how u r feeling, good or bad, thats what this Forum is for, and u will always c my name on the message boards LOL
